Researchers are trying to determine whether a big global event like the Olympics could add to the global transmission of the disease
An outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease – which is being linked to severe birth defects – has caused growing concern in Brazil and abroad. The International Olympic Committee is in “close contact” with Rio organisers. Holy fucking balls I completely forgot that RIO is hosting THIS YEARS OLYMPICS. Who wouldnt drop a fat off virus a few months before to give everyone a heartache when it comes to it? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a travel warning earlier this month, advising pregnant women to avoid travel to countries there because the mosquito-borne virus has been linked to birth defects. If you look at my previous post here, you will notice that BRAZIL is where the ZIKA VIRUS HAS CAUSED THE MOST BIRTH DEFECTS / FATALITIES. IT IS WHERE THE VIRUS HOTSPOT IS. The link between the olympics and the virus? Who fucking knows. Probably to do with money and publicity for third world countries. The Olympics is for everyone, every country gets a chance to host it. With becoming the host, the area undergoes alot of rapid development / modernization. It looks like Rio has something to hide way deeper that they don’t want uncovered or changed. Or maybe another country was runner up to host the olympics, and with Rio being infected with this disease, they will get the chance. (MOTIVE) Brazilian researchers say they believe that Zika, which has been linked to severe birth defects, came to their country during another major sports event ” the 2014 World Cup ” when hundreds of thousands of visitors flowed into Brazil. Any white man with a briefcase could have dropped the virus in a burger or something. You can honestly buy it online, so the application/start up of the virus will be that easy. However, in Rio, the Olympics will be held in a winter climate, if the virus does not mutate by then we’re all good. If global warming fucks us, the mosquitoes will be able to survive in “winter” climates.
